High Protein Hot Chocolate

Love it or hate it - this protein loaded hot chocolate is so easy to make. Your kids will not notice the addition of the cottage cheese - I promise you!

I’m always looking for ways to add more to the everyday foods my children consume - more nutrition, more taste, more veggies, more protein. Adding cottage cheese to hot chocolate seems like a genius move!

Protein Loaded Hot Chocolate

This hot chocolate has a surprise ingredient that will seriously up the protein content!

Ingredients

Hot Chocolate with Cottage Cheese
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • 1.5 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp choc chips
  • 1 - 2 tsp sweetner of choice like maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Pop all ingredients into a saucepan over a medium heat
  2. Keep whisking until everything is fully mixed and the milk starts to heat
  3. Don't allow the milk to boil over
  4. When milk is hot, chocolate is melted and cottage cheese is integrated, take off the heat
  5. You may wish, at this stage, to blend the hot chocolate as there will still be some lumps from the cottage cheese
  6. Pour into cups and enjoy!

Notes

I made this a second time without the sweetner and it was fine!
