Natural Immune Boosting Recipe

We are all dying in this house and I’m not a fan of shop bought remedies. I like a natural option so came across this recipe from @emilyxlevi and thought I’d give it a shot.

After all, are not many commercial options often based on the natural remedies?

BTW - I’ve tried 2 other natural remedies (one a bit weird …!) so hit follow to see how I get on with them!

Get the kids involved by grating the carrot, peeling the orange and peeling the ginger!


Here’s the basic recipe;
- 1 lemon for immune boosting Vit C (I used an unwaxed, organic lemon so no chemical nasties on the skin. Take the pips out)
- 2 easy peelers for Vit C - I meant to buy normal oranges but forgot
- 1 carrot grated for Vit A
- tsp turmeric powder - antioxidant, anti-inflammatory
- tsp black pepper - antioxidant and helps absorption of other vitamins
- 1/3 - 1/2 cup of raw honey (anti bacterial and anti inflammatory-great for soothing throats) . I used @hannas_bees honey

Blend everything. Add a tsp to a cup and top with hot water (watch the temperature for kids obvs!).

With the leftovers, pop into an ice cube tray or similiar, freeze and use for a couple of days.

Do I feel better after drinking this…? A little. The kids weren’t mad about the taste so I’ll add more honey after school.
