SCARY SWEET POTATOES - PERFECT HALLOWEEN RECIPE

These are an excellent snack to eat before you head out trick-or-treating or to have for your dinner on Halloween night! You can make the faces look scary or friendly.

Ingredients

STUFF YOU’LL NEED
  • chopping board
  • child-safe knife
  • paring knife
  • bowl
  • baking tray
  • baking paper

Instructions

FOOD YOU’LL NEED
  1. 1 or 2 thin sweet potatoes
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 tsp smoked paprika
  4. ketchup for dipping
HOW TO MAKE IT
  1. Turn the oven on to 180 degrees
  2. Wash and dry the sweet potatoes but don’t peel them
  3. Slice them into thin, round slices - these are the faces!
  4. Using your parking knife, cut out small triangles for eyes and a mouth from each slice.
  5. Mix the olive oil and smoked paprika in a bowl, and toss the slices in the mixture.
  6. Pop some baking paper onto your tray.
  7. Place the faces onto the tray, making sure they are not on top of each other.
  8. Bake for 10 -15 minutes until soft.
  9. Carefully remove them from the oven. Serve them straight away with ketchup blood, and maybe mayonnaise to make a spider’s web!
