How to make pink Barbie popcorn!

Here’s a little fun snack you can make if you’re going to see the Barbie movie with the kids! Or just a fun, pink, girlie snack to have for kids parties, sleepovers and pink-themed events.

If you’re making this simple pink snack for the kids at home then you know exactly what’s going into it - which is not always the case with the popcorn in the cinema! And this snack will save you money!

What do you need to make pink popcorn?

HOW TO MAKE PINK BARBIE POPCORN!

Ingredients

Popcorn:
  • 1-2 cups popcorn kernels (we used Kelkin kernels) tsp. oil
Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • Splash of water
  • Small amount of pink food dye - I used about 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Make the popcorn according to the packet instructions.
  2. In a saucepan, add your maple syrup, vanilla essence, butter and a splash of water
  3. Heat gently until all the butter has dissolved.
  4. Add a small amount of the pink food colouring and stir to combine.
  5. Pour over the popcorn and mix well.
  6. Spread all the popcorn out onto onto a flat tray to dry out.
  7. I popped mine in my Ninja air fryer at 150 for 5 minutes to crisp it up.

use other food colouring for other occasions:

  • green for St. Patrick’s Day

  • blue for christening

  • yellow for Easter
